Three Hour Intensives

February 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Besides participating in retreats, you may greatly benefit from shorter opportunities to learn about yourself and others.  An example is the “three hour intensive” – just the right amount of time for focused, condensed exploration.  One intriguing intensive examines the impact of individual thinking on navigating life change.

We are all faced with an unprecedented rate and pace of change.  How does change make you feel?  Full of energy, or drained and overwhelmed?  Sometimes we dig in our heels and wish we could refuse to budge.  Did you know it really isn’t the change itself we resist as much as our unique response to being in between two realities, the old way and the new?

When a life situation changes, there is an inner process called transition that accompanies the change.  The process includes a lot more than simply letting go of the old way of being and embracing the new.

Part of your response to change has to do with how you prefer to think.  Key events in your life have been significantly influenced not only by your thinking preferences, but by those of the important people around you.

During a three-hour intensive on the process of change we look to specific events from your own life as a context to explore your thinking.  This experience will equip you with some useful tools to help you move through change more intentionally, more comfortably, and more effectively.
